Why mix the operations?

On a sheet of only additions, children stop looking at the sign. Mixing operations is closer to real problems and to tests, where the first step is deciding what to do.

Start with addition and subtraction up to 20, then add multiplication and division facts with the Up to 100 setting. Up to 1,000 brings in two-digit by one-digit multiplication and division.

Questions from parents and teachers

Are the division problems exact?

Yes, on mixed sheets every division comes out exactly, with no remainder.

Can subtraction give a negative answer?

No, the first number is never smaller than the second.

Can I leave out one operation?

Yes. Untick it under Operations. At least one must stay selected.
